MATRICULATION

Academic Load

The minimum full-time load is 12 hours of credit.  Any student enrolled for fewer than 12 hours of credit will be classified as a part-time student.

The normal unit of credit consists of one class hour (50 minutes) a week for a semester.  Students on academic probation may be required to limit the number of hours of enrollment. Those on final academic probation are not permitted to take more than 12 hours of coursework in any semester.

Regular Student Classifications

Depending on the number of semester hours of coursework completed, students are generally classified as follows:

  • First Year: Fewer than 30 hours
  • Second Year: 30-60 hours
  • Third Year: 60-90 hours
  • Fourth Year: Over 90 hours

Auditors

At the discretion of the administration and the professor involved, auditing is permitted for some courses.

Night And Weekend Class Scheduling

Most college classes are scheduled between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on weeknights or 7:30-10:45 a.m. on Saturday mornings.  There may be additional days and times for future course offerings as simultaneous grade levels are offered.

A block system of class scheduling is used so that a full-time student takes two courses of study for eight weeks.
